In 2013 Fillmore Construction was hired by Sofina Foods to expand their Edmonton South location after being the lowest of five general contractors invited to tender the project. The original design for the project came in well over budget exceeding $5M, after several weeks of design meetings and consultation with sub-contractors we were able to bring the budget down to $3.8M for the same size facility by using more cost effective equipment and building systems. The expansion included 15,000ft² of new process and storage area as well as some renovations to the existing facilities to suit the expansion. While the site was extremely tight and bound between the existing building and primary overhead powerlines we were able to complete the project with no interruptions to their shipping, receiving or processing functions.
"I would recommend Fillmore for any of your future building needs"
The complete team led by Doug Hansen provided a great experience for this construction project. We were pleased with how the project was conducted due to its complex nature.
